The CFA Institute Research Challenge is considered one of the main gateways to the world of professional financial analysis globally. An Argentine team of students was crowned winner of the local final of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2025–2026, one of the most demanding and recognized academic finance competitions in the world. The final took place on Thursday, December 11, in Buenos Aires and brought together more than 100 students from universities such as Torcuato Di Tella, UADE, UCEMA, and the Austral University of Rosario. According to Agencia Noticias Argentimas, for two months, participants worked under a dynamic that replicates the professional world, with financial analysis, company valuation, report writing, and presentations before specialized juries. The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition. In recent years, the event has consolidated itself as a key experience for students seeking to approach international standards and the real functioning of the capital markets. After winning the local final, the winning team will now advance to the subregional stage of the competition, where it will compete with universities from other countries. The teams developed equity research reports that included financial models, comparative analysis, and investment recommendations. IP The competition is organized by CFA Society Argentina and CFA Society Uruguay, with the participation of financial market professionals who evaluate the final works and oral presentations. In this edition, the company chosen for the analysis was Vista Energy, one of the main oil producers in the country.
